  4 Wineries. Good Fun! - The four wineries that we visited: Villiera, Mitre's Edge, Rickety Bridge, and Lovane were all very different from each other and all good wines.

At Villiera, their pinotage was... read more new to me, a grape I've never had. It was really good; probably my favorite of all the wines in all the wineries we visited on this tour. Their wines were served with meats.

At Mitre's Edge, the clear winner was the Huguenot cheese. The wines were paired with an excellent selection of cheeses.

We had lunch at Rickety Bridge. Their burger was excellent! Their wines were good too.

The star of Lovane was the port style. Not normally a fan, this was excellent!

Mark Shelton was fabulous, so much knowledge, professional and great company all day.

  An experience worth every penny! - The day started off quietly, with us being the last couple jumping on the twenty-five seater cozy bus. Scanning our bus, it hit me that it was full of strangers... read more from different parts of the world, I decided to quietly cuddle up with my husband, with absolutely no idea what the day had in store for us.
Alas was I in for a pleasant surprise. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable making listening to his narrative very interesting. In fact, he mentioned to us on the way to the first vineyard that by the time we were returning, the bus would be warm and chatty. Turns out, he was right again!
From the friendly staff, to amazing food, to awesome ambiance, not to mention the lovely wine selection for our toured vineyards, we were returning to our hotel with strangers turned buddies as we goofed around all the way back. It was indeed an outing worth every penny!!!

  A great tour - and help when we needed it. - Mark was our guide through Stellenbosch and he made it a fantastic tour. We hit a lot of rain - he rearranged our itinerary so we’d stay fairly dry... read more and were able to have lunch at a reasonable time. He helped me replace a cable that I’d accidentally left behind in North America and needed a South African debit card to purchase. He kept us entertained when our bus failed to proceed for an hour in Cape Town.

And when he wasn’t handling problems, he was a great guide and host, telling us about the areas and wineries we visited and making suggestions so we could get the most from our time.

I really enjoyed the time we spent with Mark - I’d happily take another Wine Flies tour!

No one listening , broken wine glass the rest of the day panned out, we got to know our group and feel comfortable and enjoyed wine tasting and pairing .
I was really looking forward to visiting stellenbosch but disappointed - had coffee in coffee shop

  Two couples took a cape tour from Cape Town down to cape of good hope incorporating all the points of interest alone the way. Haut bay, Clifton, camps bay, boulder... read more beach as well as funicular up to lighthouse on the point.

Amazing tasting and brilliant value lunch at Saveur in Simonstown followed by fabulous wine tasting at Klein Constantia and drop off back to hotel.

Our guide Pieter was the best. Knowledge amazing, good laugh, wine guru and fantastic manner. I’d recommend him to anyone who wants to have a great day out.
