My Big Fat Whale, Wine and Wors Tour (Seasonal July to begin December – Every Tuesday and Thursday. Other days on request). All inclusive – all wines, ciders & beers, local food pairings, cellar tour, whales (nature depending of course), guide and transport, lunch, local treats.

Stellenbosch

The first is the world-renowned, Stellenbosch, where you will visit the quirky but legendary Oom Samie Se Winkel followed by the family-owned Middelvlei Wine Farm to sample some top end reds and whites as well as take a cellar tour.

Grabouw

Next, it is off to Grabouw in the Overberg region, for a uniquely South African pairing of Everson’s Ciders with locally made Boerewors (sausage) and delicious produce from Peregrine’s (a local farm stall considered by locals as an institution).

Hermanus

The Hemel and Aarde valley is next with breath-taking views and award winning wines being sampled at a local wine estate. Hermanus being one of the best land based whale watching locations in the world, is where we will indulgence in some local cuisine. Finally, to top it all off, you’ll take a trip around Clarence drive, considered to be in the top 10 scenic drives in the world, hugging the False Bay coast line en-route to Gordon’s Bay for our final tasting at Red Sky Brewery, a local craft producer brewing some experimental & exciting beers. All in all, it’s a diverse and unique day trip, showcasing ridiculously delicious local food & drink led by charming & experienced tour guides as well as big, majestic whales.

Cost:

Wine Flies’ Whale, Wine and Wors Tour costs R 1275 per person, which includes all tastings, food pairings and lunch. Tours run every Tuesday and Thursday (July to November) from 07h00 – 18h00.
